Columbia Alumni Association Volunteers

Columbia Alumni Association

Across the globe, Columbia promotes the formation of organized regional alumni clubs with the help of actively involved volunteers and the Columbia Alumni Association (CAA). Alumni can get involved in myriad ways, whether they live in Manhattan or in Taipei. Volunteers often help to organize and run events or identify speakers.

CAA also promotes committees and affiliate groups of dedicated, hands-on volunteers who work to shape and execute alumni programs. CAA committees include Events & Programs, Recent Alumni, Student-Alumni Relations, and Clubs & Associations. CAA-affiliated groups include Latino, Asian, Black, LGBT, and more.

CAA always welcomes new members and volunteers. To become a CAA volunteer, e-mail Emily Morris.

Volunteering through School-based Programs

Many schools at Columbia have opportunities for alumni volunteers. For more information about volunteering through your school, send an e-mail to dpb21@columbia.edu or visit your school’s alumni Web site for more information.

Columbia Community Outreach

Each year, Columbia alumni from around the world are invited to serve their communities on Global Community Outreach Day. The effort is sponsored by the CAA and inspired by Columbia Community Outreach, an event started by Columbia College students in 1997 to bring students, faculty, staff, and alumni together for a day of volunteering in New York City.

The Columbia Alumni Association plans to develop alumni community service opportunities in the coming years. We are also now looking for nonprofit alumni service opportunities.

If you would like to be involved in the planning of outreach efforts, or if you are part of a nonprofit organization looking for alumni volunteers, please contact Emily Morris.

Mentor and Network through Columbia Career Connections

All alumni can volunteer to help both students and graduates develop professional connections. Simply create a professional profile on the Columbia Career Connections network. The network is accessible to alumni and a select group of students seeking to make career and professional development connections with fellow Columbians.
