Activity Level: Active

This program requires getting in and out of small boats on daily excursions. Balance is important!
Full- and half-day excursions require walking on uneven or steep terrain. Many of the cities and towns being visited were founded centuries ago, and the terrain is rugged.
Walking along narrow cobblestone streets, stone floors or uneven and/or slippery terrain and climbing several flights of stairs (some without railings) is to be expected.
Walking excursions often cover distances of at least one mile and are approximately three hours in length.
Some excursions require traveling by ox-cart or rickshaw over uneven, bumpy terrain.
Air pollution is a significant problem in Vietnam’s major cities, and you should consult your doctor prior to travel and consider the impact that seasonal smog and heavy particulate pollution may have on you.
Access to advanced medical care may be limited in some cities.
Depending on the excursion, more leisurely alternatives to active excursions may be available
