Crossroads of Cultures: Canary Islands, Morocco & Iberia | April 26 – May 9, 2026

Set sail on an intercontinental study tour by sea—an exploration of the geographic, artistic, and political frontiers where Europe and Africa converge. Cruise with fellow alumni and friends from  April 26 to May 9, 2026, aboard the elegant Sea Cloud Spirit. Journey in the wake of early navigators through Spain’s Canary Islands, Morocco, Gibraltar, and Andalusia.

Begin in the Canaries, Spain’s volcanic archipelago off Africa’s northwest coast. As you explore these islands, learn how they once served as Spain’s staging grounds for Atlantic crossings to the Americas.

Cross the Atlantic to Morocco, where cosmopolitan cities such as Agadir, Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Asilah, and Tétouan await. Those who wish to explore Marrakech may join an optional two-night interlude from May 1 to 3, 2026, experiencing the imperial city’s palaces, gardens, and cuisine.

Your story continues in Andalusian Spain, where visits include inside looks at the world’s largest Gothic cathedral and Europe’s oldest occupied royal residence in Seville.

Savor the experience of cruising through the ancient Pillars of Hercules, the Strait of Gibraltar. Arriving near Gibraltar’s iconic Rock, descend into a 34-mile tunnel complex constructed during World War II. Disembark in Málaga, Spain. You may participate in an optional two-night postlude in Lisbon, Portugal, from May 9 to 11, 2026.
