Extinction begins as woolly mammoth researchers in Siberia start dying from a mysterious and rapidly spreading bone-disintegrating disease. Dr. Drew Chambers is sent from his New York City bone research laboratory to the Arctic by Global Investors, who funded the mammoth expedition, in exchange for a long-awaited grant. Chambers identifies the infectious source of the disease, but not before Global Investors shuts down all expedition communications and supply access in an attempt to cover up the incident. The clock is ticking as Chambers and the remaining researchers fight for their lives thousands of miles from civilization. But will they survive the triple threat - the disease, the Arctic elements, and the armed militia determined to eliminate the evidence of their experiment gone awry?
