Columbia Alumni with Disabilities, founded by Leslie Zukor, ’23JRN, presents a conversation with Wendy Lu ’16JRN, an editor at The New York Times, about common disability tropes in the news and how journalists can improve disability coverage.

 

Wendy Lu '16JRN is a deputy editor on the Flexible Editing desk at The New York Times and a global speaker on disability representation in the media. She is also a board member for the National Center on Disability and Journalism. Previously, she was an editor and reporter at HuffPost, covering the intersection of disability, politics and culture. In 2022, she was named on Forbes's 30 Under 30 in Media and received Columbia Journalism School's First Decade Award. She received her master's degree from the Journalism School in 2016.
