Dear Alumni,
We are pleased to invite you to a guided tour of Haus Lange and Haus Esters in Krefeld on Saturday, April 25 at 11:00 am.
Designed by the renowned architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in the late 1920s, Haus Lange and Haus Esters are two adjacent modernist villas that today form part of the Kunstmuseen Krefeld. Originally built as private residences for textile industrialists, the houses are considered outstanding examples of early modern architecture. Their clear geometric forms, refined brick facades, and carefully designed spatial transitions between interior and garden exemplify Mies van der Rohe’s architectural philosophy and mark an important moment in the development of modernism.
Today, the villas function as exhibition spaces for contemporary art and architecture. The dialogue between the historic buildings and changing exhibitions makes the visit particularly rewarding.
