CAA Global Club Student Send-Offs 2026

Every year the  Columbia Alumni Association (CAA) works with the Global Clubs to host Student Send-Off events, which are designed to welcome new students and their families to Columbia University before they head to campus in the fall.

This summer, Global clubs hosted 44 in-person Send-Off events, gathering students from across all 17 schools together with alumni from their local area. Attendees got the chance to network, give and receive advice about living in New York City, and celebrate the beginning of an exciting new school year.

2,000+ students and alumni attended the events hosted in the following regions:

  • Europe (10 events)
  • North and South America (10 events)
  • East Asia (7 events)
  • South Asia(5 events)
  • South-East Asia (5 events)
  • Africa (2 events)
  • Middle East (2 events)

Brazil hosted the most events in a single county  this year, holding events in São Paulo, Brasília, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, and online. Global Clubs in Hamburg, Addis Ababa, and Sydney hosted their first Send-Offs.

Several clubs partnered with their local Global Centers to co-host Send-Offs. The Columbia Global Centers in Paris, Santiago, Nairobi, and Athens partnered closely with the local clubs in France, Chile, Kenya, and Greece.

The CAA Korea alumni club Send-Off was a standout this year, with over 170 attendees getting together at the Yonsei University in Seoul, including CAA Korea board members.

The CAA joins the Global Clubs in wishing Columbia students an amazing and productive 2026-27 academic year!
