Presidential Welcome Reception on Martha’s Vineyard

On Monday, August 17, alumni, students, and friends met the new president, Jennifer L. Mnookin, at an event on Martha's Vineyard. Columbia Alumni Association (CAA) Chair, Lanny Breuer ’80CC, ’84SIPA, ’85LAW, P: ’23BUS introduced her to attendees. 

During her talk, President Mnookin mentioned how deeply she's been immersing herself in Columbia culture and is enjoying life as a New Yorker. The crowd was inspired by her remarks, her optimism for Columbia’s future, and the importance she places on alumni engagement in the University’s realization of its mission. 

CAA President, Donna MacPhee ’89CC, P: ’17CC noted, "I was thrilled to welcome our new President and see her jump right in—meeting students and alumni and discovering what it means to be a True Blue Columbian. She was able to experience firsthand what connects our community, inspires our Columbia pride, and makes this institution so extraordinary."

The attendees included multi-generational families of Columbians, illustrating the depth of our community. The event also presented a fantastic opportunity for students to network with alumni, getting advice that benefited their lives and work beyond Columbia.
