CAA Scholarship Match Announcement

September 19, 2024

Columbia University Trustee Keith Goggin ’91JRN has committed to match all gifts made to the Columbia Alumni Association (CAA) Scholarship on Columbia Giving Day on Tuesday, October 1, up to a total of $500,000.

The CAA Scholarship supports students at every Columbia School—not only with financial assistance but also with access to the CAA’s network of alumni through personalized mentorship for each CAA Scholar.

In the first three years of the program, 61 students have been awarded scholarships.

  • Year one: 17 students
  • Year two: 21 students
  • Year three: 23  students

As of September 20, 2024, alumni and friends have contributed or committed over $4.1M. CAA President Donna MacPhee ’89CC said, “Student support not only shapes Columbia’s student body today, but also develops a robust, diverse, and exciting alumni community who will continue to give back to tomorrow’s students.”

Scholars will have multiple opportunities to interact as a group and participate in the CAA’s broader programming, familiarizing themselves with the opportunities available to all Columbians through the broader University.  Founding donor Keith Goggin ’91JRN noted, “Working together, using all of the University's resources together, we get the best outcomes—as alumni, for students, for society.”
